INTRODUCING TO ALGEBRA
Algebra is the branch of mathematics that uses letters, numbers, and symbols to describe theoretical rules and represent problems in the form of expressions or equations.
Examples:
Basic operations between fractional numbers
A number increased by 3 gives 8
A number increased by itself gives 12
A number multiplied by 2 and added to 5 gives 9
The product of two successive natural numbers is 30
The distance equals speed times time
Energy equals mass times the speed of light squared
SOME VOCABULARY

- Coefficient: It is the real number that is always multiplying the variable
- Constant: It is a real number that is not accompanied by variables and is adding or subtracting the value of a variable
- Term: mathematical expressions made up of a number part and a variable part
- Polynomial: Combination of many terms separated by addition or subtraction
